First edition. Rare compete set of this bibliographic study considers by Brunet as ''an interesting book but nearly unknown in France''. It deals mainly with books dating of the beginning of printing and offer a collection filled with curious and scholarly research on several rare books, collections of little-known and other objects of English literature. Found for example in the first volume a comparative overview of the prices of several rare books at different times, and several interesting notices of famous collections of all kinds, etc. (in Peignot, Répertoire bibliographique universel, p. 396). The final volume concludes with a general index. Brunet I, Manuel du libraire et de l'amateur de livres, p. 135 (which mentions only 5 volumes). Back formerly equally skilfully restored. Some frictions affecting the bindings. Rare spots in the text. Notwithstanding, good conditon. Rare.
